In this video, Jessica Lenzo, MPH, BSN, RN, OCNdiscussed the importance of sharing standard operating procedures for the administration of experimental immune effector cell therapy.
In his presentation at Oncology Nursing Society Congress 2022, Lenzo, clinical practice lead for the Center for Human Phenomic Science unit at the University of Pennsylvania, noted that the Foundation for Cell Therapy Accreditation (FACT) has set standards for cell therapy, although guidelines do. does not include the technique of administration of the cellular product.
“We thought, we’ve given it that way all along and it works great, but maybe other people give it differently,” Lenzo said. In the presentation, she described how her team administers experimental immune effector cell therapy.
“It was good. It generated discussions about how other institutions [administer therapy]“, said Lenzo.
