Journey to Healing with Barberyn – Adaderana Biz English

“Rediscover the secrets of holistic well-being to navigate these difficult times”

Ayuwanna by Barberyn organized an open day, a series of exhibitions and workshops entitled “Journey to Healing with Barberyn” from 25and-27and March 2022. The event was organized with the aim of sharing the ancient wisdom of holistic healing with the general public to navigate through stress and anxiety in these trying times. The event was free to educate and raise awareness of Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and herbal medicine where practitioners use natural therapies and treatments to heal and renew the mind, body and spirit.

The event began with a memorable evening at the official launch of the exhibition with a Dhanvantari Puja, followed by live oriental classical music and refreshments. The exhibition took guests on an insightful journey through Barberyn as they walked the healing path and learned about the many Barberyn Ayurveda resorts in Sri Lanka and the wide range of Ayurvedic treatments on offer. There was an exhibition of herbal remedies and treatments from the Barberyn Institute of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine and ancient Ayurvedic practices used today in Barberyn. Additionally, viewers got a glimpse of Diyabubula, the enchanting art and jungle hideaway designed by renowned artist Laki Senanayake for Barberyn.

The weekend featured a wide variety of Ayurveda-related workshops and several highlights were Professor Piyal Marasinghe’s engaging workshop on the preservation and healing power of forests and medicinal plants, a meditation session centered on the heart by Shobana Cooke and the exploration of the integration of yoga and Ayurveda with Rekha. Krishnamoorthy. An interactive panel discussion was hosted by Ayurveda practitioners Dr Sewwandi, Dr Haresha and Dr Charitha to debunk the most common Ayurveda myths and Dr Rashipaba provided an informative session on how to get started in your Ayurveda journey.

Other Ayurveda-related workshops illustrated Ayurveda cleansing methods, maintaining an Ayurvedic routine and a self-massage oil application session by head therapist Ms. Janani. The workshop series included an Ayurveda film screening and discussion of the holistic Ayurveda system, as well as an interactive children’s session on how to make a medicine sachet.
